Moondance has been in existence since May 2000, and in that time, has rapidly been establishing itself as a superb tribute to Van the Man and his music. The band is a 6-piece outfit, & all of the band members have a wealth of experience, both gigging & recording, in Ireland and abroad.
The band’s line-up incorporates the following Lead Vocals, Saxophone, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboards and Drums. Moondance’s set takes you on a two-hour journey through the music of Van Morrison, from his earliest recordings with Them, through his classic material from the ‘70’s to today’s songs, including his duets with Cliff Richard & Brian Kennedy. All the songs are here from Brown-eyed Girl to No Religion, from And It Stoned Me to Real Real Gone, from Domino to Cleaning Windows. Since its inception, Moondance has been filling venues up and down the country with plenty of repeat bookings, such is the audience demand. Venues played to date include: Quays in Galway, the Holyrood Hotel in Bundoran, the Bridge House & NO. 1 in Tullamore, The Harbour Bar, the Shieling Hotel, the Red Cow, the Lord Mayor’s & Brookfield Lodge Hotel in Dublin, Moll Goggins (Copper Rocket) in Youghal; plus an amazing 5 action-packed years at the Cork Jazz Festival 2000 – 2004 inc.
